Homo bulla est / The bubbles of vanitas still lifes remind us of the transience of existence, as Eruasmus said “Homo bulla est” (the man is but a bubble). A spoon is the tool that teaches you to eat as a child and when you are old and stiff you eat with a spoon again. By Kim Pimmel, I have seen videos of his mesmerising film works before, he always has a really unique way of capturing things. This video is of bubbles that have a magnetised black ink run through them, the best part is near the end when the black all runs towards a magnet set in the plug of a sink, look at his Vimeo for more wonderful videos.
