‘Metaphys’ Hono Light: A futuristic lamp with a retro twist
These minimal LED lights are designed to act like a real candle by flickering in the wind, and automatically turning off when you blow on them.
The clever design even includes a giant “matchstick” which turns the candle on when struck against the side of the tubular silicon fixture. Each candle comes with its own charging base which can provide up to 8 hours on a single charge. They also come with a wall mounting bracket if you’d like to use them as sconces.
METAPHYS Lighting’s Hono 24000 LED candles were designed by Chiaki Murata, who also has the distinction of being the lead designer for Microsoft’s Xbox 360 console.

AskMe is a response to a reflection on our own capitalist society brought about by the desire of ‘having’ over the ‘being’ in extreme competitiveness constantly threatens all the relationships, tends to assert the primacy of “individual” for on ‘community’, of ‘mine’ for what ‘our’, the ‘private good’ over the ‘common good’, the individual over and separated from the whole surrounding it and which is inseparably part. ” Reconsidering the product as a link between people, the designer has in this project to weave relations and create feelings, using everyday situations and opportunities where one is in question, and considers its role respect for others. None of the existing standard products measured up to their vision of an ultra-flat, bright and uniformly illuminated lightwall (in the vision of an authentic Polaroid photograph). So they made one - The Polaboy!

in opdracht van Audax Textielmuseum Tilburg
Gedurende de werkperiode in het Textiellab ontwikkelden we een techniek waarbij een weefsel in bamboegaren geverfd kan worden in een fotografische print. De techniek kleurt het garen op millimeters nauwkeurig in de kleur van de foto. Met deze techniek maakten we de droogdoeken “Waterkleuren”. Het doek kan met negen verschillende prints van waterkleuren bedrukt worden. De namen van de locatie van het water zijn geweven in het textiel en deze worden geaccentueerd door middel van hun bijbehorende print.
