rough for the story about greece and the severe financial cuts it may have to endure.
Aristotle Park
On a visit the Aristotle Park in Stagira (Halkidiki, Greece) I saw these beautiful large spinning discs depicting optical illusions. The park is furnished with many instruments that demonstrate the Greek philosophers scientific concepts, particularly those of his work ‘The Natural’.
The optical illusions were accompanied by the following explanation:
When images pass with high speed in front of the human eye, they cannot be detected as separate (cinema) - from the Ancient Greek κίνημα meaning movement.

The Greek parliament has passed an austerity package by a slim majority to slash $40bn off the national debt.
Wednesday’s vote saw 155 members of parliament vote in favour, 138 against and 5 abstentions.
The package of taxes, spending cuts and privatisations has angered many Greeks, with thousands taking to the streets as part of a 48-hour national strike protesting against the bill.
Like many a Greek, Loukanikos is firmly opposed to government overreach, new austerity measures, and police brutality, and he’s willing to take to the streets early and often to make his voice heard. But unlike most protesters, Loukanikos — Greek for “Sausage” — is a dog. He’s also one of the better-known, and oft-photographed, demonstrators in a country known for its passionate, sometimes violent protests. Last week, Loukanikos was again in the thick of it, as police fired tear gas at demonstrators.
What is pictured above is a remarkable 24 hour mosaic surrounding a spot on Sounio, Greece, right here on planet Earth. Images taken at night compose the top half of the picture, with star trails lasting as long as 11 hours visible. Contrastingly, images taken during the day compose the bottom of the image, with the Sun being captured once every 15 minutes. The image center shows a Little Prince wide angle projection centered on the ground but including gravel, grass, trees, Saint John’s church, clouds, crepuscular rays, and even a signature icon of the photographer — the Temple of Poseidon. Meticulous planning as well as several transition shots and expert digital processing eventually culminated in this image documenting half of the final two days of last year.
