“Sang d’encre” est un superbe projet de Bruno Bressolin qui peint chaque jour un visuel illustrant un élément réel du quotidien de l’actualité internationale. Cette série commencée en octobre 2012 avec l’ouragan Sandy puis avec l’élection du président Obama compte déjà à ce jour plus de 100 dessins. Pour voir d’autres peintures, cliquez ici.

an exhibition in the gallery’s project room by Elektra KB of new works on paper, photography, and a selection of cloth pages of her 20 page, hand-sewn artist’s book. The pages of the book, each a sewn and embroidered felt collage, depict guerilla warfare in a mythological, semi-autobiographical world parallel to ours: a female rebel army revolting against the forces of a tyrannical police state. The women are primitivist and often uniformed and weaponized—most wear only short petticoats and veils or ominous balaklava. They pose brazenly with machine guns and chainsaws in photo ops, but Elektra KB has rendered these weapons more like toys, and according to her rule-set for this alternative world, they shoot rays of light not ammo.

The Future of Britain

Reportage photographer Peter Dench is collaborating with the media agency OMD UK on a project they’re calling “The Future of Britain,” a visual record of modern British life. Over the next six months, he will be traversing the country to capture the behaviors and attitudes of a changing society. He hopes to build a visual archive of how people live; where they shop; where they vacation; and what concerns them most.

UK residents have the chance to get directly involved: Peter is inviting suggestions to photograph in YOUR town, home, workspace, party, club, event or even join you on holiday for a day. If you have something interesting to share about living life in modern Britain, let him know. The Future of Britain is in Dench’s hands, let’s hope they’re a safe pair.
